The concept, an imaginary, dark and lonely trip adrift discovered in a diary. Emotions of fear, anger and irrational excitement are expressed, waiting for a certain epilogue into desolation, a final annihilation in a cosmic fusion. Sonically, this new album is a journey that intersects and expands in a huge, deep and at times, claustrophobic monolith. Heavy cavernous guitars with back-breaking riffs, multifaceted, effect laden vocals and rhythmic notes plunge into a psychedelic mix of unpredictable sounds of distress and madness that we, the recipient, can only succumb to.

Created by Jonathan Nolan: la vera ragione per cui ho iniziata a seguirla, anzi, l’unica. Il fatto e’ che le prime puntate mi hanno lasciato veramente mah, puntate autoconclusive e trama generale non pervenuta.
Mollata dopo i primi episodi e ripresa in questi giorni per vedere se sotto sotto ci stava del buono, visto che comunque gli ascolti sono sempre alti, sono arrivato all’episodio 7 dove finalmente si intravede qualcosa di interessante, gia’ dall’episodio 6 comincia a delinearsi una trama di piu’ ampio respiro e l’episodio 7 se la gioca con un buon colpo di scena e un’ottimo finale, personalmente l’interesse per la serie si e’ decisamente impennato e non vedo l’ora di continuare la visione.

Acclamati un po’ ovunque come la nuova promessa del classic doom i Pilgrim non mi convincono, poche idee e voce monotona la fanno da padrone in un disco che vorrebbe essere qualcosina di piu’ ma non ce la fa’. Come sempre, essendo nel campo dell’ultra derivato i gusti qua la fanno da padrone, qualcuno potrebbe impazzirne, io decisamente no.
L’ho sempre detto, stare dietro a ste band di frikkettoni e’ difficile, ancora non ho recuperato il precedente Latitudes che esce un altro disco dei Sylvester Anfang II, solita roba strippata questa volta con un tocco orientale molto piu’ marcato del solito. Roba buona che ti fa viaggiar anche da sobrio, garantito.
Credo ci sia poco da dire sull’ultimo lavoro degli High on Fire se non che Kurt Ballou dietro il mixer ha restituito alla produzione un po’ di grezzumo che nel precedente Snakes for the Divine si era un po’ persa. Disco eccezionale, Matt Pike sempre piu’ eroe. Alzare il volume e GODERE

ORO is the title for Ufomammut’s latest work, divided into ten massive movements overall which is now confirmed to be delivered in two separate pieces during 2012: the first chapter, Opus Primum, in April, and the second, Opus Alter, in September.
Oro explores the concept of knowledge and its power; the magical stream controlled by the human mind to gain control of every single particle of the World surrounding us.
Although Oro’s two chapters will be released months apart from each other, they must be considered as a single track in which the musical themes and the sounds show up and hide, mutating and evolving, progressively and increasingly stratifying culminating in the crushing final movement.
Oro is like an alchemic laboratory in which substances are flowing, dividing and blending themselves in ten increments from the alembics and stills, culminating into the creation of Gold.
